Greetings at the start of another week! We’re a little slow to get all cylinders firing today, but before long we’ll be cruising! Life has been feeling much more normal lately, I think the Florida sun healed me of all my winter sadness! Addie Bledsoe brought me a daffodil yesterday morning and the little burst of yellow on my desk has been like a little hug!

We had a really special night of Intergenerational service on Wednesday night! I’m grateful for the Witness Commissions efforts to bring that activity to life! Many hands make light work as we were able to bless the SWEEP program with over 600 snack bags plus over 300 Easter goodie bags!

The church building will be busy this week. I’m looking forward to sharing in a special volunteer training with some of my Lil’ Roots Volunteers at Lancaster Bible College on Thursday. This event is hosted by a group that has monthly gatherings for Children’s Ministry leaders and volunteers. It has provided some wonderful fellowship, connection and tools for Kerri, Amanda and myself. I’m excited for others to join us!

Friday evening is the March Date Night for the MGCB Marriage Ministry. We will launch our first lesson with Grace Marriage that evening as we meet from 6:30-8:00pm. We’ve got an amazing and passionate team of Facilitator Couples who are leading the charge with this very important ministry. As I’m sure you’ve heard, this is for all marriages, at all stages and ages! Won’t you consider joining as we all look to form not just good marriages, but great, God-glorifying marriages! Register to join us HERE.

Saturday is the annual Men’s Banquet. I’m sad to miss it this year as I’ll be out of town for the day. Scott is looking forward to joining! I know Lori, Bobbie and Dennis Mellot are looking for their team of ladies to serve in the Kitchen and Dining Room, if you’re interested reach out! Thanks to Men’s Work for their efforts in organizing this event for the guys in our church family!

Sunday will be another busy day of worship! We have our first Every Generation Sunday of the year! During the Sunday School hour we’ll meet in the Sanctuary for a time of singing and then move into some intergenerational teams for some Lent/Easter Jeopardy! During the 10:30 service the Branches Brunch will take place in the Family Life Center. I know the Lil’ Roots are excited to find out who their Branches are!

Hope to see you at some of all of these many ministry activities over the upcoming days!

What I’M Learning This Week: Sharing what I’m reading and listening to lately

I’ve been thinking about the legacy of faith recently. Discipleship is the ripple effect of the work of Christ, from person to person, from generation to generation. I was helping with an event at my parents church this weekend. I walked through doors I walked through every week of my childhood life, and saw people I have seen for many years. Being back in the church that built me, brought to my memory all of these people whose lives rippled out and splashed onto me, forming my faith week after week.

Titus 2 was on display there, older men and women living lives “sound in faith, love and steadfastness” (Titus 2:2) and training those behind them. So to Pastor Carl, Pastor Doug, Pastor Jason, to Janet and Terri and a long list of Sunday School teachers, Youth Group leaders and other church friends - thank you. Your diligent efforts to pass along your faith and the Good News of Christ changed me forever. May I model your example, and let my faith ripple out and splash on to others.
