MGCB Children's Outreach Ministries.
Our Children's Outreach Ministries are a way for us to share the love we have for children with our wider community here in the Southern End. We know how hard it can be as a parent to find quality care for your child while you work. We know how much parents want to make sure their kids have a quality education experience in early childhood. That's why COM exists.
Our child care group home opened in 1984 and grew to be a Center in 2011. It continues to operate as a non-profit community outreach program of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren. MGCCC is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. The license for MGCCC is renewed on a yearly basis through an on-site inspection by a licensing representative.
Our Childcare Center operates from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and can accommodate 27 children between the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years.
Wee Friends Preschool was a vision of Pastor Earl K Ziegler. In the spring of 1975, it was promoted by MGCB member Marlene Eckman as Wee Friends' first lead teacher. The school has grown over the years with room for 144 children. Most of the children come from the Solanco community. Wee Friends Preschool currently offers classes from 3 years old to Pre-K.
This childcare center opened in 2001 as a one day/week after school program. In 2002 our after school program expanded to 5 days/week. In 2009 we added a before school program. CLASP continues to operate as a non profit community outreach program of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren. CLASP is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. The license (Certificate of Compliance) is renewed on a yearly basis through an on-site inspection by a licensing representative.
Ages enrolled: We accept children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Transportation can be provided through Solanco School District's Transportation Office at 717-786-9743 with Quarryville and Clermont Elementary Schools (AM and PM).
Hours facility open: 6:30am until bus pick up (morning program) and bus drop off until 6:00pm (evening program)
Enrollment policy: We will accept up to 30 students per day.
