Happy Monday! Lots of pretty colored and falling leaves out there! I was taken by surprise to see the reminder about Daylight Savings Time in the bulletin yesterday, it just doesn’t seem possible that October disappeared so quickly!
I’m feeling refreshed after a slow and quiet weekend. It was much needed after a full week last week and another ahead of me. Thanks to the many of you who have been dropping kind words of encouragement and thanks my way for Pastor Appreciation. They have been an uplifting “push” over the last month!
I’m enjoying leading the BOLD Bible study every other week. It’s been a fun opportunity to study the Word with women who I see on a regular basis here during the week, but don’t worship with us on Sundays. It’s open to any woman available on Friday mornings, you can still jump in now if you’d like!
I hope you picked up all of your new reading materials yesterday! The November-December Newsletter and the Congregational Business Meeting packets were released on Sunday. You’ll find the new D6 Devotional Guides in your mailboxes this week too! Be sure to mark your calendars for the Congregational Business Meeting on Wednesday, November 13th. Your participation in these events is important! We are working to provide childcare during that event as well.
I hope you also have your calendars marked to participate in the Prayer Vigil and/or the Pre-Election Praise and Worship Service. Kay Swarr is diligently organizing a space for us to pray over our nation and its leaders on Sunday, November 3rd.
Last week the Youth Roots had their October Gather Event. The Jr. Highers were at the Kreider Farm for a “pumpkin chunkin’” event with a homemade pumpkin catapult. The Sr. High Youth Roots had a tailgate movie night and bonfire at the Houghtons. We’ve got great youth volunteers! If you’d ever be interested in organizing or hosting a youth activity, reach out to Melissa Houghton or myself.
Enjoy the crisp fall weather today and the warm fall weather later this week! Hear the sound of leaves crunching under your feet! Marvel at the glimmering frost in the morning! “He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.” Psalm 104:19
